Climate change and extreme weather are top environmental concerns nationwide. A recent PES survey revealed that a majority of respondents are optimistic that technology is the key to addressing our climate future. To address this issue, the Power & Energy industry needs people from other disciplines. In response to this demand, the eligibility criteria for PES Scholarship Plus recipients has been expanded.
Effective 2025 – The IEEE PES Scholarship Plus Initiative is proud to announce that a wider range of undergraduate students will now be eligible to apply to become PES Scholars.
The expanded list of eligible disciplines includes-
Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Environmental Engineering, Renewable Energy and Sustainable Studies.
The educational funding given to each PES Scholar has also increased, from up to $7,000 USD over three years to up to $10,000 USD.
These changes will become active when the 2025 Scholarship Plus Application opens 20 January, 2025.
